'Sweet Melody' is a lovely example of a ruffled pink rose with folds and a multitude of pretty little petals inside the soft cup of outer silken petals. Painting this was a labour of love as its intricate layers were time-consuming and at times a puzzle to unravel.

I have painted the sides of the canvas black to accentuate the dramatic nature of the piece.
